How and when do orders and shipments get recorded in ECHO, and what happens when they change?

ECHO adds orders and shipments once a day. Just after midnight UTC, Endless records the previous day’s orders and shipments, so a new order appears in ECHO the day after it is created, counted in UTC.

Units Ordered uses the date the order was created in Endless, as a UTC day. For Shopify and Amazon orders, that is the date the order was placed in the channel. For orders from other channels and EDI, it is the date Endless received the order. Units Shipped uses the shipment’s ship date, and a shipment without a ship date is dated by when Endless recorded it. Only shipments that have shipped count.

When an order or shipment changes after it was recorded, for example a quantity, a price, or the ship date, Endless marks that day. The next daily run recalculates the marked days and replaces their Automatic records. Manual and Adjustment records are not changed.

Canceling an order removes its units and revenue from Units Ordered at the next daily run, and uncanceling adds them back. Units already shipped on that order stay in Units Shipped.

Units Ordered counts a bundle under the bundle SKU only, as it appears on the order, and does not count its components. Units Shipped records each shipped line under the order line’s SKU. When a bundle ships as its components, the component units appear under the bundle SKU, so a bundle can show more units and revenue shipped than ordered. Use Units Ordered for bundle sales.

ECHO identifies a sales channel by its handle, not its name, so renaming a channel does not change ECHO. Changing a channel’s handle does. Days recorded before the change keep the old handle, later days use the new one, and the channel appears twice until those earlier days are recalculated. A channel without a handle appears under an internal ID.
