What do the subscription statuses on the Billing page mean, and what happens to our access during a trial, after cancelling, or when a payment fails?
The badge on the Billing page’s plan card shows the subscription status, which decides whether your team can use Endless.
- Setting up: the subscription is not yet active with the billing provider. The page shows “Contact us to activate,” because Endless support finishes activation.
- Trialing: you are on the free trial. A banner counts down the days left.
- Incomplete: the first payment has not gone through. Access continues.
- Active: paid and current.
- Overdue: a payment failed. Access continues for a 7-day grace period while a banner asks you to update your payment method. After that, access is suspended until the invoice is paid with “Pay invoice.”
- Paused: access is suspended until the subscription is resumed.
- Canceled: the subscription has ended and access stops.
- Trial ended, or “Ends” with a date: the trial lapsed, or the plan will not renew.
Every self-signup plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Endless collects your card at signup but does not charge it until the trial ends, and then the plan continues. If a trial ends without an active subscription, every page except Billing shows “Your free trial has ended” and nobody can work in Endless until an Admin activates the subscription. Your data is kept.
To cancel, use the portal opened by “Manage billing” if it offers cancellation, or contact Endless support. “Cancels at period end” means the plan stays active until the current period ends and does not renew. Then the status becomes Canceled and your team sees “Your subscription has ended.”
“Still setting up” appears after you create a company if setup takes longer than a minute. Your payment details are saved. If the company does not appear, contact Endless support.
“No billing set up yet” means the company does not have a subscription in Endless yet. The plan, payment method, and invoices appear once billing is activated. When access is blocked, people without the Admin role see “Your account is not active.”
