How does the Dashboard calculate its inventory and supply numbers, such as “Percent in Stock”, “In-Transit Value”, and “Shipments at Risk”?

The Dashboard calculates these numbers from your inventory and supply shipments when it rebuilds its snapshot, about once an hour.

Percent in Stock is the share of active products that have the Full Stock or Low Stock badge, which compares unallocated stock plus Available to Make across all buildings with the quantity ordered. The line below it compares the number of in-stock inventory records with the number of active products. Archived inventory records do not count.

In-Transit Value adds up the supply shipments with the status In Transit. Each line counts its quantity times the unit cost on the shipment line, or the purchase order line’s unit cost when the shipment line does not have one. Lines without either count as zero. The value does not include shipping, duties, or other landed costs. “Across … shipments” is the number of In Transit shipments. Shipments in other statuses, such as At Origin or Out for Delivery, do not count.

Delivery Variance is the average number of days between the expected arrival date and the actual arrival date, across the 50 most recently arrived supply shipments that are Delivered or Closed and have both dates. A positive number means shipments arrived late. The comparison “vs prior period” is the average of the latest 10 of those shipments minus the average of the 10 before them.

Shipments at Risk counts supply shipments that are Pending or In Transit and have an expected arrival date before today, in UTC. A shipment without an expected arrival date never counts. To bring a shipment off the list, update its status or its expected arrival date.
