Where do I find the results of a CSV import or export, and why did one fail or never arrive?

Endless runs CSV imports and exports in the background, then notifies the person who started them in the Inbox and by email, depending on that person’s notification channels.

When you start an export, Endless shows “Export started. You’ll be notified when it’s ready.” When the file is ready, you get an “Export completed” notification with a download link. Endless runs only a few exports at a time, so an export can wait behind others before it starts. The download link expires after 24 hours by default, so start the export again for a new one. If an export still fails after three attempts, you get “Export failed” with the reason.

An export notification never arrives when both the Email and In-app channels are off on your Notifications settings page, because Endless has nowhere to deliver it. Turn a channel back on and start the export again.

After you upload an import, Endless shows “Import started... we will let you know when it is complete.” When it finishes, you get “Import completed” with the counts, such as “Your import has finished. 12 succeeded, 2 failed.” Open Raw metadata in the Inbox notification for available failure details. The number of example rows and whether valid rows were saved depend on the import type. If the whole file is rejected, you get “Import failed” with the reason instead.

Both notifications are tied to the company you were working in. Switch to that company to see them in the Inbox.
