How should I interpret the coverage and fill rate Endless AI reports?

Coverage compares units ordered and units shipped during a period. It reports their fill rate, the unfulfilled quantity gap, and revenue on each side.

get_coverage_summary gives totals and SKU and sales-channel breakdowns. With a start and end date, it also compares the immediately preceding period of equal length. get_coverage_series shows one point per day, week, or month.

Try “How much did we ship compared with demand last month?” or “Is the gap between ordered and shipped units growing each week?”

Demand is dated by order date, while shipping is dated by ship date. The two aggregates do not link individual orders to the shipments that fulfilled them. Shipping an earlier backlog can therefore produce a fill rate above 1, or 100%, and a negative unfulfilled gap.

Read this as a comparison across the selected dates. It does not measure an individual order’s fill rate or the time an order took to ship. To investigate an actual outstanding order, ask the assistant to read its items and shipments.
