Why did sending an order to my warehouse fail or not arrive, and does Endless try again?
A send fails when the warehouse system rejects the fulfillment order or cannot be reached, and Endless tries again on its own. It retries several times, waiting longer each time, up to 10 minutes between attempts. If every attempt fails, the fulfillment order becomes Failed.
Each attempt is recorded in the fulfillment order’s activity, such as “Send attempt #2 to ShipBob failed,” followed by the warehouse’s message. Some warehouse systems also add their own entry. “Error sending order to BusinessCentral,” “Error sending order to Gobolt,” “Error sending order to InfoPlus,” “Error sending order to ShipHero,” “Failed to create order in Extensiv,” “ShipBob order create failed,” and “Could not send the order to Trackstar” all mean that warehouse system did not accept the order. The text after the message, or the error details on the activity entry, gives the reason.
“Request failed. Status: 429 (Too Many Requests),” or a “too many requests” error from ShipStation, means the warehouse system limited how fast Endless can send. A later attempt usually succeeds.
Common causes are a carrier service the warehouse does not recognize, an incomplete address, products the warehouse system does not have, and expired connection credentials. Fix the cause at its source, such as the carrier mapping or the product, so other orders do not fail the same way. Then select “Resend for fulfillment” on the Failed fulfillment order. If a send keeps failing, contact Endless support.
“Send initiated” means Endless has queued the send. The fulfillment order stays Ready until the warehouse accepts it, then moves to In Progress. If it stays Ready, look for failed attempts in the activity.
In Progress means the warehouse accepted the fulfillment order and Endless is waiting for shipments, or someone selected “Mark as In Progress,” which changes the status without sending anything. If your warehouse cannot find the order, check the activity for “Send attempt … succeeded” to see which integration received it, since the fulfillment order’s selected integration overrides the building’s default. Then search the warehouse system for the fulfillment order’s External ID.
