Why is my order on hold, and how do I release it?
An order is on hold when a person or a “Hold Order” automation has placed at least one hold on it. While any hold is active, Endless does not allocate, mark ready, or send its fulfillment orders. The order page shows “Order is on hold,” with the reason of the latest hold.
To release it, select “Manage Holds” in the order’s actions. The “Manage order holds” dialog lists each active hold with its reason, who placed it, and when. Select “Release” on each one, with an optional release note. An order can have several holds, and it stays on hold until every one is released. That is the usual reason an order is still on hold after a release. The banner shows the count, such as “with 2 active holds.”
After you release the last hold, advance each waiting fulfillment order from its next action, such as “Process Fulfillment” then “Allocate,” “Mark as Ready,” or “Send for fulfillment,” because releasing a hold does not repeat the Process Fulfillment action. Contact Endless support for help.
To see who placed a hold and why, open “Manage Holds.” The order’s activity also records “Order placed on hold” with the reason, and “Order hold released” with the release note.
A hold does not change the sales order’s status. The Orders list shows an On Hold badge in place of the status, and filtering by On Hold returns every order with an active hold. A held order also still matches its underlying status, such as Ordered or In Progress. If a held order is missing from the On Hold filter, its holds have already been released, the order is archived, or another filter excludes it.
