How do I change which building a fulfillment order ships from, and why is that sometimes blocked?
To move a fulfillment order, open its actions menu and select “Change Building.” The dialog shows how many units of the items each building has available. The action is offered while the fulfillment order is Draft, Allocated, or Failed. To move a Ready or In Progress one, revert it to Allocated first. While the sales order is on hold, only Draft fulfillment orders can change building.
When you change the building:
- The fulfillment integration resets to the new building’s integration, replacing one selected on the fulfillment order.
- Item locations reset to the new building’s default location.
- An Allocated or Failed fulfillment order releases its reservation and reserves the same items at the new building, then shows Allocated. If the new building cannot cover every unit, the change fails and nothing moves. The error names the SKU, as in “Inventory not available for product SKU.”
This is how you override routing for one order. You can also create the fulfillment order yourself with Create Fulfillments, then Choose Building, which creates a Draft at any active building whether or not Endless shows stock there. To have routing pick a specific building, include only that building in a strategy, or give it the top priority.
A fulfillment order at a building where Endless shows no inventory can exist in Draft, but it cannot be allocated until Endless records stock there. Update the building’s inventory first.
“Warehouse not found” means the selected building is not one of your company’s buildings, for example because it was removed. Pick another building.
