Why can’t I allocate a fulfillment order when the building shows stock?
Allocation reserves stock only from the building’s active, pickable locations, so it can fail while the building’s totals show stock. The error names the SKU: “Inventory not available for product SKU,” or “SKU at location Name” when the item is restricted to one location.
Common causes:
- The stock is in locations that are not pickable or not active. Move it to a pickable location, or change the location’s settings.
- Other allocated fulfillment orders already reserve the units. Building totals still count them as In Stock.
- The number you see includes Available to Make, units that could be built from components. Allocation needs the SKU’s own stock unless the line uses components. On the Draft fulfillment order, select “Use components” on the item.
- The same SKU is on two lines. Endless reserves both lines from the same building stock, so allocation fails when their combined quantity is more than the building can supply, even if each line alone would fit. Lower one line or move it to another fulfillment order.
“Fulfillment already has an active allocation” means inventory is already reserved for this fulfillment order, and Endless does not reserve it twice. Select “Revert to Draft” to release the reservation, then allocate again.
Signals on the order describe what Draft fulfillment orders could reserve now:
- “FO can now be fully allocated at Building: 5 of 5 units available.” The building has enough unreserved stock for every unit.
- “FO has inventory for partial allocation at Building: 3 of 5 units available.” Lower the quantities to what is available, or change the building.
- “N units have no inventory at any building.” No building has stock available to allocate for those units, so they wait for stock to arrive.
If a signal says a fulfillment order can be fully allocated but allocation shows an error, check the item’s locations, because the stock may be in locations that are not pickable or not active. If the locations are correct, contact Endless support for help.
