What can I edit on a sales order, when can’t I, and how do I see who changed it?
You can edit most of a sales order in any status, with limits on line items.
Endless refuses an edit that breaks a rule, and the message says which one. Line items cannot change on a Canceled order. An item cannot be removed, or reduced below what fulfillment orders hold, while an Allocated, Ready, In Progress, Failed, or Fulfilled fulfillment order includes it. Addresses must have the required fields.
After an order ships, you can still edit its details, add items, and change prices. Items on a Fulfilled fulfillment order cannot be removed.
You can edit orders imported from an integration. Endless warns “Editing an order imported by an integration” because the integration may overwrite your change. Endless applies updates from the source in any status. Shopify, for example, replaces line items, tags, addresses, contact details, payment status, shipping cost, tax, and the requested shipping method on every update. That is why an edited field can change back, so make the change in the source system too.
To change a price, edit the line on the items card. Each line has a price and a discount.
For a different order number, select “Duplicate Order” and set it there. The copy is not linked to the source integration.
Change tags in the Order Tags section of the order, with “Add tag”. The actions menu does not include tags. Contact Endless support for help removing tags or changing an existing order’s number.
“Reload order” fetches the order from its source integration and applies the same update the source would send. It appears for Pending, Ordered, and In Progress orders whose integration supports it.
The Timeline shows each integration’s full name so you can tell which connected store made a change. The Timeline tab records status changes, holds, edits to items, details, addresses, and financial information, integration updates, automation changes, and fulfillment order and shipment activity. Each entry shows a person’s name, the integration, or System. You can filter it by source or to the order, fulfillments, or shipments.
