How do I add, remove, or relink items on a sales order?

You can add, remove, and change line items while the sales order is Draft, Pending, Ordered, In Progress, or Shipped. Canceled orders cannot be edited. Committing a draft does not lock its items.

To add items, use “Add item” on the order’s items card. Endless takes prices from the order’s sales channel, so set the sales channel before you add items. Without one, adding an item shows “Couldn’t resolve product prices. Try again.” Adding an item to an order that already has fulfillment orders leaves the new item unassigned. Create a fulfillment order for it, or add it to a Draft fulfillment order.

You cannot remove an item, or reduce its quantity below what fulfillment orders hold, while a fulfillment order that is Allocated, Ready, In Progress, Failed, or Fulfilled still includes it. The error names that fulfillment order. Endless checks every fulfillment order that includes the item, so canceling one is not enough if another still has it. Revert those fulfillment orders to Draft or cancel them. A Fulfilled one cannot be reverted, so a shipped item cannot be removed.

An item that has shipments stays on the order when it is removed, with a quantity of 0, in the Removed section. Items that Shopify removes or reduces to zero also stay there, with their original quantity shown. For other sources, items without shipments are deleted.

When the source system changes a quantity, Endless updates the line item. It does not change fulfillment orders that already hold the item, except that Shopify orders are then reconciled with Shopify’s own fulfillment orders. Review the order’s fulfillment orders after the change.

A line shows “Not in catalog” or “Add to Catalog” when its SKU does not match a product. Select “Add to Catalog” or “Link Product.” In “Link a product,” choose “Link to an existing product,” “Add it to your catalog,” or “Leave untracked.” Leave untracked keeps the line as it is. Endless does not track or reserve inventory for an untracked line.
