Can I merge two sales orders or split one into two?
You can split one sales order into two with “Duplicate order,” and combine two by adding one order’s items to the other. You can also split how one sales order ships.
A sales order can have several fulfillment orders, each for some of its items and each assigned to a building. Use “New Fulfillment Order” on the order to choose the building and items for each one, or let a routing strategy split the order across buildings. Each fulfillment order is sent and shipped on its own, and the sales order shows Shipped when all items have shipped.
To split an order into two sales orders, use “Duplicate order” to create a copy as a new Draft. Then edit the items on each order so that each keeps only its share, and commit the draft. Remove items from the original before any of its fulfillment orders holding them are allocated, or revert those fulfillment orders to Draft first.
To combine two orders, add the second order’s items to the first with “Add item,” then cancel the second order. The orders must belong to the same customer and ship to the same address, because one sales order has one shipping address. If the orders came from a sales channel, the combined order is not linked to the second order in that channel. Tracking for the moved items is sent only with the first order.
