What do the stock depth badges mean, and how do I control when a product shows “Low Stock”?
Each SKU has one stock depth badge, which compares the units Endless could still allocate with the demand waiting for them. Endless adds Unallocated stock and Available to Make, then compares that total with Ordered:
- Oversold: the total is smaller than Ordered.
- Out of Stock: the total equals Ordered, including when both are zero, or the total is zero or less.
- Low Stock: the total is above zero and above Ordered, but below the product’s “Restock At” quantity.
- Full Stock: every other case.
The “Stock Depth” filter on the inventory list uses the same badge. The badge and the filter always use company-wide totals, even when you filter the list by building.
A SKU can be Out of Stock or Oversold while units sit in a building because those units are already Allocated, are in a quarantine location, or are needed for Ordered demand. For example, 10 unallocated units with 10 units ordered is Out of Stock, and 10 units with 12 ordered is Oversold.
To control Low Stock, set “Restock At” on the product’s page. The threshold is entered and shown in the product’s unit, and the badge updates when you save it. Review the threshold when changing units: an incompatible change can reset it to zero, which turns off the Low Stock threshold until you set a new value. Low Stock compares the threshold with Unallocated plus Available to Make, without subtracting Ordered. A product never shows Low Stock when “Restock At” is empty or zero, when that total stays at or above the threshold, or when Ordered is equal to or larger than the total, because Oversold and Out of Stock are checked first.
The badge counts units that could be made from components. Available to Make is included for every product with components, whether or not “Inventory includes components” is turned on. That setting changes Available to Sell but not the badge. The product page shows the same badge as Inventory Health.
