Why is Available to Make missing, zero, or unexpected for a product?
Available to Make is zero or missing when Endless cannot build a full unit from the unallocated component stock in a single building. Check these causes:
- The product is a Part or Non-Inventory product, or has no components. Only Finished Goods, Bundles, and Aliases with components get a figure.
- One component is short. Endless uses the smallest result across components, so one missing component makes the whole figure zero. A component without an inventory record counts as zero.
- The components are in different buildings. Endless does not combine stock across buildings.
- The component units are allocated or in quarantine locations, or the building is inactive.
- Component stock changed less than an hour ago. Endless recalculates hourly. Choose “Recalculate Inventory Levels” on the inventory list to update now.
The inventory list shows “-” for zero. On the item’s Overview tab, the Available to Make rows appear only when “Inventory includes components” is turned on for the product. Turning it on also adds the figure to Available to Sell.
An alias product shows Available to Make because the product it stands for is set up as its component. The figure is the stock of that product that could be allocated in each building, divided by the quantity on the alias. When “Inventory includes components” is on for the alias, those units appear in the alias’s Available to Sell as well as in the original product’s.
When you remove a component, Endless recalculates the product right away from the components that remain. The figure can go up, because the removed component no longer limits it. If you remove every component, Endless sets Available to Make to zero in every building, and it is no longer added to Available to Sell.
