How does Endless send shipments and tracking back to the system an order came from?
When a shipment on an order from a sales integration is recorded as shipped, Endless sends it to that integration on its own. This applies to Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, Faire, Wayfair, Mirakl, Rithum, Cin7, and Extensiv Order Manager. For Endless EDI, automatic ship notices and invoices require the corresponding auto-send settings to be enabled.
Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, and Rithum receive individual shipments. Faire, Wayfair, Mirakl, Cin7, and Extensiv Order Manager wait until the fulfillment order is fully shipped. Shopify receives all tracking numbers recorded on each shipment.
Shipping confirmations to your customers come from the channel. For Shopify, manual sends offer the integration default, notify customers, or do not notify customers. An explicit choice overrides the integration’s “Send tracking information to customer” setting. Tracking corrections on an existing linked Shopify fulfillment do not request another notification. Contact Endless support to discuss shipping emails from Endless.
“Send shipments” on an order checks every active shipment and sends the ones the source has not accepted yet, with the same rules as the automatic send. Shipments already accepted are skipped, and the results appear on the order’s Timeline tab. When the order has no shipments, it shows “There are no active shipments to send.”
Tracking does not reach the source when:
- the shipment came from the source system itself, such as a fulfillment created in Shopify. Endless does not send those back.
- the order has no source integration.
- the shipment is not marked shipped, or it has no items.
- the channel rejected it. The order’s Timeline tab shows the reason, such as a Shopify fulfillment order Endless could not match. Fix the cause, then select “Send shipments”.
“Skip fulfillment ... because it has no shipment.” is an information entry on the order’s Timeline tab. While sending shipments, Endless skipped a fulfillment order that has no shipped shipment yet, such as the unshipped part of a split order. Endless sends it once it ships, so no action is needed.
