What happens when I send a fulfillment order with a product my warehouse does not have yet?
It depends on the warehouse integration. Some create the missing product and send the fulfillment order again, and others fail or hold the order until the product exists.
- Extensiv: when Extensiv reports that a SKU does not exist, Endless creates the product in Extensiv and sends the fulfillment order again, for each missing SKU. There is no setting for this.
- GoBolt: when GoBolt rejects the order for unknown products, Endless creates each product GoBolt does not have and sends the order once more. This happens whether “Automatic product creation” is on or off. That setting controls whether new Endless products are created in GoBolt as you add them.
- MasonHub: Endless creates the missing products in MasonHub and sends the order again, with “Automatic product creation” on or off.
- Mintsoft: with “Automatically create products when exporting fulfillment orders” on, Endless creates each missing SKU in Mintsoft, records “Created missing product ... in Mintsoft; retrying order create”, and sends again. With it off, the default, the send fails with “Mintsoft order create failed:” and Mintsoft’s reason, such as “Cannot find Product with SKU”. Create the product in Mintsoft or turn the setting on.
- ShipBob: create products in ShipBob before you send. Endless sends each line’s SKU, name, and UPC, and ShipBob decides whether to accept an unknown SKU. If ShipBob rejects the order, the fulfillment order fails with ShipBob’s reason.
- Shipfusion: Shipfusion accepts the shipment but places it on hold for undefined SKUs. With “Automatic product creation” on, Endless creates the missing products and sends the shipment again. With it off, Endless saves the held shipment as the sent fulfillment order and records “Shipfusion placed ... on hold (UndefinedSKUs)”. Create the products in Shipfusion and release the hold there.
If Endless cannot create a product, the order’s activity shows “Failed to create product ... in” the warehouse, and the send fails. Fix the product, for example its SKU or name, then select “Resend for fulfillment” on the Failed fulfillment order.
