What are an integration’s data mappings, and what happens when a location or other value is not mapped?

An integration’s Data mapping tab tells Endless which Endless record matches each value the other system uses. Its sections depend on the integration:

  • Connected Buildings: which building matches each external warehouse or location. Endless uses it to send fulfillment orders to the right warehouse, place incoming orders and shipments, and push or pull inventory.
  • Sales channels: which Endless sales channel matches each external channel or store, for incoming orders and orders Endless sends out.
  • Suppliers or Vendors, for Quickbooks and Business Central: which vendor in that system matches each Endless supplier.
  • Unit of Measure Mappings, for Endless EDI: which packout level a retailer’s unit code means, such as CA for an inner pack. Endless converts those order lines to eaches using the product’s pack quantities.

To map a location Endless did not discover, open the Connected Buildings menu and select “Add connection”. Choose the building and enter the External Location ID the other system uses. Where the integration can list its locations, “Browse external locations” lets you pick one instead.

Each building can have one connection per integration, and each Endless sales channel one mapping per integration. Several integrations can share a building or a sales channel. Contact Endless support for help combining two locations or channels of one integration.

To delete a building mapping, select “Edit connections”, remove the row, and save. You must first choose another inventory source, or set “Push inventory to integration” to No, if the connection does either. Afterwards Endless stops pushing inventory to that location.

When a Shopify order comes from a location with no mapping, Endless creates a new building for that location.

“Warehouse mapping missing for” a building means Endless tried to send a fulfillment order to Mintsoft or Shipfusion from a building with no connection to that integration. Add a connection for the building with the warehouse’s ID, which must be numeric for Mintsoft. Then select “Resend for fulfillment”.
