How does Endless import orders from an integration, and what happens with duplicates, older orders, or unknown SKUs?

Endless identifies each imported order by the source system’s order ID. When a source sends an order Endless already has, including through Import Order, Endless updates or skips the existing order and does not create a copy. An order whose number already exists in the same sales channel is not created.

An archived order is not imported again. A deleted order is forgotten, so if the source sends it again, for example after a change or a reload, Endless imports it as a new order. Cancel instead when the source may send it again.

Each integration has its own order IDs, so the same customer order sent by two integrations arrives as two orders. This happens when a marketplace order reaches Endless directly and also through a store such as Shopify, which imports orders from every Shopify sales channel. Import each channel through one integration only, and cancel the extra copy.

“Order importing in progress!” means Endless queued the import. The order appears when the import finishes. If the source cannot find the order, a message appears on the integration’s Activity tab.

To bring in an order placed before you connected, use Import Order, or contact Endless support for help with many older orders. Shopify imports orders processed after “Import & Update Orders” is turned on, Wayfair imports orders dated on or after “Order Import Start At”, and other integrations import orders that arrive after you connect.

Endless matches each line to a product using an explicitly linked product first, then the customer’s external item mappings, then the source integration’s mappings, then exact SKU, and finally UPC. A line without a match still imports, without a product, and Endless cannot allocate or ship it until it has one.

“Reload order” on an order, or “Reload orders” on the list, fetches the latest data for Shopify orders. Values Shopify controls, such as items and addresses, replace your edits. For orders from other sources, make changes on the order in Endless, or contact Endless support.
