How do I create a sales order by hand, and what happens when I commit or revert the draft?

On the Sales Orders list, select “Add order.” Choose a sales channel and an order number of at least three characters; Endless suggests one. Endless creates a Draft order and opens it. Add items, addresses, and other details.

Select “Commit Draft” to confirm the order. It becomes Ordered, its items start reducing available inventory, and automations with the Order Approved trigger run. Before you commit, add items with a quantity above 0. Fulfillment orders can cover only items the order has.

“Revert to Draft” works on Pending, Ordered, and In Progress orders. Cancel every fulfillment order first, or Endless shows “Cancel all fulfillment orders before reverting this sales order to Draft.” A Fulfilled fulfillment order cannot be canceled, so an order with shipped items cannot be reverted. A Draft stops reducing inventory availability until you commit it again. Its details and payment status are kept.

“Duplicate Order” creates a new Draft with the same items, prices, line discounts, addresses, contacts, carrier selection, shipping cost, tax, tags, and notes. You choose the order number, the sales channel, and an extra tag. It does not copy fulfillment orders, status, or the link to the source integration, and it starts as Payment Pending.

To discount an order, set a discount amount on each line when you edit it. The Payment card adds them up as Discounts.

Enter sales tax yourself in “Edit Financial Details” on the Payment card.

Order type is B2B or DTC. Orders you create by hand are DTC, and integrations set the type of orders they import. Automation conditions and exports can use the type. The B2B Info section, with fields such as PO Number, is on every order. To set the type of new orders, use an automation with the Set Order Field action and the Order Type field. Contact Endless support for help changing an existing order’s type, or to discuss order-level discounts and sales tax.
