What kinds of supply shipments can I create, and how do I record containers, samples, returns, or goods sent to a decorator first?
Every supply shipment you create in the app is a Standard shipment, and you record containers, samples, and decorator stops with the same shipment and its fields.
Endless also stores Blind, Return, and Transfer types, which can be set only with the Shipment Type column of the shipment import or through the API. The app does not display the type. Endless handles every type the same way.
For a container, create one shipment and choose “Add Item.” The By PO tab lists purchase orders from every supplier, so one shipment can hold lines from several purchase orders. Each item stays linked to its own purchase order line. Record the container on the Key Information card, with Container No., Container Size, and Vessel Name/No.
For samples or other goods without a purchase order, use the All items tab. Those items appear under “No Purchase Order,” and receiving them still adds stock.
Supply shipments record goods coming in. To return defective units to a supplier, remove them from stock with Adjust Inventory on the item’s location, or move them to a Quarantine location, and record the return in a note.
To route goods through a decorator, create the shipment with a Custom Destination naming the decorator, which does not affect stock. When the goods leave the decorator, choose “Create Child Shipment,” set your building as its destination, and receive it there. Close the first shipment so its units stop counting as incoming. Contact Endless support for help tracking returns or decorator steps.
When you leave Shipment Number blank, Endless numbers the shipment by its destination at creation. A building destination uses the ASN format, ASN-2026-0001 by default. A custom destination or no destination uses SHP-2026-0001. The number does not change if the destination changes later, but you can edit it on the Key Information card. To change these formats, contact Endless support.
