How do I choose where a supply shipment is delivered, and how does the destination affect stock?
Set the destination on the shipment’s Destination & Route card, or when you create the shipment. Choose a building, or choose “Custom Destination” and type a name, such as a port.
A building destination ties the shipment to your inventory. Its unreceived units count as incoming for that building, and received quantities add stock there. A custom destination is a label only: “Custom destinations do not affect inventory quantities in Endless.” Received quantities on it do not add stock, and the items table does not show a Received column.
That is why a custom-destination shipment is missing from a building’s incoming and from the product’s Incoming Shipments tab: it has no building to count toward. Company-wide figures such as Total Incoming still include it. To count it for a building, change the destination to that building.
For a building whose inventory Endless manages, you can also choose a Location. Received units then go into that location instead of the building’s Default Available location. The location must be active and in the chosen building. If it later becomes inactive, Endless skips the stock update and logs a warning on the shipment. When another system, such as a warehouse integration, manages the building’s stock, the Location field is hidden and Endless tracks incoming only.
With no location chosen, received units go to the building’s Default Available location. If the building has no active Default Available location, Endless skips the stock update and logs a warning.
To change the destination building after receiving, return the shipment to In Receiving if needed, set the Received quantities to 0 and save, change the destination, then enter the quantities again, which moves the received units to the new building. Changing the destination without these steps leaves received units in the original building, and later receipts go to the new one. A Closed shipment’s destination cannot be changed.
