How do I create a supply shipment from a purchase order, and how do its items stay linked to the purchase order lines?
Choose “Create Shipment” on the purchase order, from its actions menu or its Shipments tab. In “Create Shipment from Purchase Order,” set the shipment number (generated if left blank) and the destination, then open “Add purchase order line items” and select lines.
Only lines with units left to ship can be selected. Not Shipped is the ordered quantity minus the units already on shipments that are not canceled, and lines at zero are disabled. Qty starts at Not Shipped and cannot be set higher.
Each item added this way stays linked to its line, counts toward the line’s shipped quantity, and takes the line’s SKU, unit cost, HTS code, and carton details.
In “Add Items to Shipment,” the By PO tab adds purchase order lines the same way, capped at Not Shipped. The All items tab adds products without a purchase order, under “No Purchase Order.”
You can increase a PO-linked line only up to the unshipped balance available on that PO line. If another PO supplies the extra units, add a separate line from that PO.
A shipment is linked to a purchase order only through its items. A shipment created without selecting lines, or a later partial shipment built from All items, is not linked. Add the lines from the By PO tab, or use “Adjust PO Association” on each item.
“Adjust PO Association” opens “Adjust Purchase Order Association,” which links the item to another purchase order line with the same SKU that still has units to ship and is not already on this shipment. To unlink an item that has not been received, remove it and add the product again from the All items tab.
“The product SKU … does not match the PO item SKU …” appears when an item’s SKU differs from the SKU of the purchase order line it is linked to. Use the line’s SKU, or link the item to a matching line.
“Create Shipment” does not appear on an archived purchase order. Restore it first.
