How do I add, import, deactivate, or delete locations, and what happens to the stock in them?
You add and deactivate locations from a building’s location list. Deactivate a location you no longer use.
To add one, open the building and select “Add Location” on the Inventory Locations tab, or “Add location” on the Locations tab of the newer building page. The name must be at least 5 characters and unique within the building. Add locations one at a time. Your developer or an AI coding tool can create many at once through the Endless API with a Custom Fulfillment integration. API access must be in your plan. Contact Endless support for help importing or removing locations.
To deactivate a location, open it and set Status to Inactive. Endless does not allocate from inactive locations and rejects adjustments to them with “Location … is not active.” Stock already in an inactive location still counts toward Physical and In Stock, so it can still appear available and be pushed to sales channels. Move the stock out before you deactivate it.
To put stock into a new location, use the inventory import. Each row takes a SKU, Warehouse ID, Location ID, and Stock Level, and sets that location’s count to the Stock Level. Once an item has a record in a location, you can also open the item, choose the building, select the quantity on that location’s card, and enter the change in Adjust Inventory with a reason.
To see every SKU in a location, open the location and use its Inventory tab, which shows Stock Level and Allocated for each SKU. The Depth filter defaults to Full Stock and Low Stock and is based on each item’s overall depth, so a SKU that is out of stock across your company is not listed there even when this location holds units. Search for the SKU or check the item instead.
An item’s location list for a building shows only locations where that item has a stock record. Locations where its count is zero are hidden behind the “Show more empty locations” button.
