What do the reasons and quantity columns in inventory history mean?

Each row in inventory history is one change at one location, and Reason names the kind of change:

  • Allocation: units at the location were reserved for a fulfillment order.
  • Allocation Released: a reservation ended without the units shipping, for example when a fulfillment order was canceled.
  • Allocation Committed: reserved units left the location because their fulfillment order shipped.
  • Allocation Uncommitted: units that had left the location came back, for example when a shipment was removed.
  • Shipment: an order shipped and its units left the location.
  • Receipt: units on a supply shipment were received.
  • Adjustment: the quantity was set to a new value. Manual adjustments, inventory imports, and pulls from a connected system all record Adjustment.
  • Correction: the daily recalculation found that the allocated quantity stored for a location was wrong and rewrote it.

A row without a reason comes from a change that does not set one, such as an item’s starting inventory.

History shows only these categories. The reason you chose in the Adjust Inventory dialog is on the item’s Activity tab, for example “Inventory item quick adjusted to 40 units and reason: Damaged.” Imports appear there with the reason Manual Adjustment, pulls with Inventory Sync, and adjustments sent through the API without a reason with Other. Contact Endless support to discuss showing your chosen reasons in History.

Location stock and Location allocated are the units at, and reserved at, the one location that changed. Location stock counts every unit there, including units in a quarantine location. The other quantity columns are totals for the whole building in the Warehouse column. In stock leaves out quarantined and damaged units.

Every figure is the level after the change, not the amount that moved. To see how much moved, filter to one building and subtract the previous row. On an item’s History tab, Physical, Quarantine, and Damaged are hidden by default, and you can show them from the table’s column options.
