How do retailer EDI purchase orders come into Endless, and how does Endless acknowledge, reject, or change them?
Endless checks Endless EDI for new 850 purchase orders every 5 minutes and turns each one into a Pending sales order on the integration’s Sales Channel. Poll Transactions is that automatic check; it does not appear in the Actions menu.
To bring in one PO, use Import from integration on the Orders page and search by the PO number exactly as on the retailer’s PO. Only inbound 850s can be imported, and a PO already in Endless shows as Already in Endless. Import Order in the integration’s Actions menu takes the numeric EDI transaction ID instead of the PO number.
The PO’s ship window is stored on the order as its expected ship date and B2B start and end ship dates. Whether your warehouse receives them depends on its integration; ShipBob, ShipHero, InfoPlus, and MasonHub receive the window, for example.
To see the retailer’s PO, select the inbound 850 on the order’s EDI tab to view its contents.
Endless sends an 855 when the order is approved, if the connection’s EDI State Machine has “Send 855 (PO Acknowledgment)” on “Order Approved”. Contact Endless support to set up that card. With “Auto-approve Orders” on, the 855 goes out when the order arrives. The 855 answers every line the retailer ordered as accepted, quantity changed, removed, or not matched to a product, in the retailer’s unit. To acknowledge changes, turn off auto-approve, edit the lines, then select Approve Order.
To reject a whole PO, select the plus button next to EDI 855 on the EDI tab, edit the document, and select Send to EDI Partner. Canceling the order in Endless does not notify the retailer.
When a retailer sends PO changes or cancellations, make them on the order yourself. Contact Endless support to discuss 860s or downloading the original PO, or to confirm how a retailer’s 997s are handled.
