How does Endless send EDI invoices and inventory updates to retailers?
Endless sends an 810 invoice automatically when a fulfillment order on an Endless EDI order becomes Fulfilled, only when “Send 810 automatically on shipment?” is enabled on the integration. It is off unless explicitly enabled, and is independent of the automatic 856 setting.
810 Invoice Scope decides how many invoices go out:
- One invoice per order, the default: one invoice for the whole purchase order, sent when the shipment that completes the order ships. Earlier partial shipments do not send an invoice.
- One invoice per fulfillment: an invoice for each fulfillment order as it ships, covering only what that fulfillment order shipped. Retailers that split a PO by store or distribution center often need this.
The invoice is built from shipments recorded in Endless. For an order that shipped outside Endless, record it with Create shipment on the fulfillment order. When the fulfillment order becomes Fulfilled, Endless sends only the documents whose automatic-send settings are enabled. On a Fulfilled fulfillment order, Send Invoice (EDI 810) in its actions menu, or Send EDI 810 on its accounting document, opens the invoice so you can review it and select Send to EDI Partner. These actions appear on orders that came in through Endless EDI.
“Send 846 inventory updates?” turns on 846 inventory updates. Endless sends them automatically each day. Push Inventory in the integration’s Actions menu sends one right away. With the setting off, nothing is sent.
The 846 reports one quantity per SKU: the available stock summed across every building whose connection to this integration pushes inventory, under the Partner Warehouse ID. If no building pushes inventory, nothing is sent. SKUs marked out of stock for this integration report zero.
Endless subtracts Inventory Buffer from that total, then caps the result at Inventory Maximum, and never reports less than zero. Enter an Inventory Maximum above your largest stock. To clear the retailer’s quantities before you turn updates off, contact Endless support for help.
