When does receiving a supply shipment change my inventory, and why didn’t it change as expected?

Saving a changed Received quantity updates stock at an Endless-managed destination. Saving from Pending, In Transit, or Delivered starts receiving. Return a Received or Closed shipment to In Receiving before correcting counts. Changing status or importing a historical shipment as Received does not itself add stock.

If inventory did not change, check these:

  • The destination is empty or a custom destination. Only a building destination changes stock.
  • Another system, such as a warehouse integration, manages the building’s stock. “Confirm changes” then says “Stock levels are managed externally and won’t be affected, but incoming quantities will be updated.” Endless updates incoming only, and the building’s stock comes from that system.
  • The building has no active Default Available location, or the shipment’s destination location is inactive. Endless does not add the stock and shows a warning on the shipment’s Activity tab.

Each save adds only the change from the last saved Received quantity, so saving the same number again does not add stock twice. Units are added twice when one arrival is recorded in two places, such as on a parent and its child shipment, on two shipments for one delivery, or also through an adjustment or inventory import. Lower the duplicate Received quantity to remove them.

“Refresh received inventory” asks the destination’s warehouse integration for its latest receipt and updates received quantities and status. It appears only after the shipment was sent to the warehouse, and only for Extensiv, GoBolt, InfoPlus, Jazz, and Veracore. It does not run on a Closed shipment.

On a Closed shipment the first quantity column is labeled Expected and shows the quantity that was on the shipment. The quantity received is in the Received column, which appears only when the destination is a building.

To allocate received stock to waiting sales orders, choose “Allocate” on each fulfillment order. Contact Endless support to discuss allocating orders when stock arrives.
