How do supply shipments and purchase orders count toward incoming inventory?
Incoming combines outstanding purchase orders, unreceived supply shipments, and warehouse transfers in transit to the destination.
Pending supply shipments count as incoming. Each active line contributes the expected quantity less its receipts, down to zero. Received, Closed, and Canceled shipments contribute zero.
For example, if 100 of 200 units arrive on a top-level PO shipment with no children, marking it Received reduces its quantity to 100 and releases 100 to the open PO. Those 100 remain incoming through the PO until the order is closed, canceled, or received through another shipment.
The inventory view separates PO units not shipped, PO units on shipments, and other incoming. Open POs count even while Draft. Closing or canceling the PO removes its unshipped balance.
Warehouse transfers contribute their unreceived quantity at the destination while In Transit, Delivered, or In Receiving. Receiving reduces that amount; completing the transfer removes any remaining shortfall.
