What are the product types in Endless, and how do they affect shipping and inventory?

A product’s type says whether it is a stocked item or is made of other products.

  • Finished Good: a sellable item you stock. It can have components when you build it from parts.
  • Part: a raw material or component you stock and use in Finished Goods, Bundles, or Aliases.
  • Bundle: a set of Finished Goods and Parts sold under one SKU. Its availability comes from its components.
  • Alias: a second SKU that stands for one or more Finished Goods or Parts, such as a marketplace SKU.
  • Non-Inventory: an item that is not stocked, such as a fee or service.

You can change the type later with the product’s Type field. Existing components, stock, and open orders stay as they are, so check the Components tab afterward.

On a sales order, Non-Inventory lines are routed, allocated, and fulfilled like other products. Contact Endless support for help with orders that include fees or services.

Each size and color variant is its own product with its own SKU. To group variants, add custom attributes such as Size and Color and use them as product list filters. Contact Endless support to discuss grouping variants under a parent product.

Requires Shipping, on the Shipping card of the Dimensions tab, records whether the product ships. It is included in the product export.

Unit of Measure affects how quantities are displayed and validated. Measured inventory uses units such as kilograms or liters, with the precision supported for that product. Review the unit-change preview before saving: open work, components, stock, or allocations can block a change. A change to an incompatible storage unit can reset Restock At to zero. Sales-order quantities still require whole amounts.

Products reach Endless from imports, channel syncs, and manual creation, so the catalog can include items your 3PL does not handle. Archive products you do not need.
