How do I pack a wholesale order into cartons and print SSCC labels?
Pack a wholesale fulfillment order on the sales order’s Containers tab, then assign SSCCs, close the containers, and select “Generate Labels.”
Containers record which items go in each carton or pallet, with its SSCC, weight, and dimensions, and EDI ship notices list them. You can add them once a fulfillment order is Allocated, including after it is Fulfilled. Select “Add/Edit Containers” in its actions menu. On an EDI order, an In Progress fulfillment order cannot ship until it has containers.
Containers move through three stages:
- Packing: add containers and assign items. “Auto-Pack” replaces the current containers with a generated plan: one container, one per SKU, divided by a product packaging level, or a maximum number of units. It can also give each store its own containers. Then select “Confirm Containers.”
- Confirmed: enter SSCCs, weights, and dimensions. “Prefill Container Dims” fills them from the master carton or item weights.
- Closed: select “Close Containers,” then “Generate Labels.”
“Validate Containers” chooses which fields a container needs to count as complete: SSCC, Weight, and Dimensions by default, plus optional Tracking Number, Store Number, DC Number, Container Type, and Pack for Store Quantity. Containers missing one show Incomplete, and you can still close them.
To change closed containers, select “Revert to Confirmed” and reopen them, then “Revert to Packing” to change items. Regenerate labels and resend the ship notice afterward if you changed anything. “Reset Containers” deletes them and their SSCCs.
On EDI orders, “Assign SSCCs” creates SSCC-18 codes for containers without one. It uses the GS1 prefix selected on the EDI integration’s GS1 Prefix card. Each prefix has its own counter, so Endless does not reissue a serial, and it refuses a code that matches another container in your company. If you used the prefix outside Endless, contact Endless support to set its starting serial so numbering begins after your last code.
