Can I transfer inventory between buildings, and what happens to stock levels when I do?
Use a warehouse transfer to move inventory between two of your company’s buildings and track it in transit. Transfers are available on enabled accounts; contact Endless support if the option is missing.
Create a transfer with an origin, destination, products, and quantities. Allocating reserves the units at the origin so they are no longer available to sell. There must be enough stock to allocate every line. If stock is short, correct the quantity or available inventory before trying again.
Shipping deducts the reserved units from their origin locations and counts the unreceived quantity as incoming at the destination. As you record receipts, inventory increases at the destination and incoming decreases. Transfers do not need a supplier or purchase order.
Record received quantities while the transfer is Delivered or In Receiving. Marking it Received accepts any shortfall and writes off the missing units. To correct received quantities afterward, return it to In Receiving first. A completed ShipBob WRO marks the transfer Received automatically only when every line is fully received; otherwise it stays In Receiving for review.
Returning an allocated transfer to Draft releases its reservation. Canceling also handles its warehouse receiving order and confirmed delivery appointments where supported. Check Activity for the results.
Avoid adding separate stock adjustments for a move already recorded through a transfer, because the transfer changes inventory itself. A building managed by another inventory system also needs that system to record the physical movement; its next inventory sync remains authoritative.
