How do I adjust inventory in Endless, and what happens when I do?

To adjust inventory, open the item from the Inventory list, go to its Locations tab, expand a building, and select the quantity next to a location. In the Adjust Inventory dialog, choose a Reason, enter the New Quantity, and select Save. Only users with an admin role see this control.

  • You enter the new total for that location, not the change. The dialog shows the difference. Enter a nonnegative total in the product’s displayed unit. Measured products support the precision shown by the control; count-based products use whole quantities. To record missing stock, enter the lower total.
  • A reason is required. Reasons are the same for every company and include Damaged, Expired, Reconciliation, Received Wrong Item, Overstock Correction, Understock Correction, Quality Control, Return to Vendor, Customer Return, Administrative Adjustment, Transfer Error, Packaging Error, and Other.
  • The dialog changes one SKU in one location. To change several SKUs or locations at once, use Import Inventory from the Inventory list’s actions. It also sets totals.
  • To match a cycle count or start using a building, enter the counted quantity for each location, or import a file of counts.
  • To undo an adjustment, adjust the location back to its earlier quantity.
  • An adjustment does not change the product’s cost.
  • The item’s Activity tab records the user, quantity, and reason for each adjustment. A manual adjustment also triggers inventory updates for enabled channel connections. Rithum queues a combined push after a short delay.
  • To move stock between locations in a building, such as into the Quarantine location, lower the quantity in one location and raise it in the other.
  • To ship stock out of a building without a sales order, adjust it down with a reason such as Return to Vendor. To ship it through your fulfillment process, create an order for the units.
