How does Endless set and update the expected ship and delivery dates on a purchase order?

A purchase order’s expected dates are the dates you enter, and they change only when someone edits them or a PO import sets them. Edit them on the Dates card of the purchase order’s Details tab, where Expected shows Completion, Shipment, and Delivery. The expected delivery date is the Delivery date there and the Expected Delivery column on the list.

Each line has its own Expected Ship Date. To set it on many lines, choose “Set ship dates” from the Line Items menu. For one line, use “Set Ship Date” in its row menu. The dialog offers a specific date, the purchase order’s expected ship date, the line’s lead time added to a base date, or clearing the dates.

Line dates do not change the purchase order’s own expected ship date. When lines have different dates, the Dates card adds a Ship Window from the earliest to the latest. To change the purchase order’s date too, choose “Set a specific date” and tick “Update the purchase order’s expected ship date.”

“Add lead time to the PO issuance date” adds each line’s Lead Time, in days, to the purchase order’s Issued date. It needs an Issued date. Lines with no lead time are skipped, and Endless reports how many it skipped. Enter a lead time on those lines, or set their dates another way.

“Expected Production” on the purchase order header is the number of days from the Issued date to the expected Completion date. It is blank unless both are set.

Changing a supply shipment’s expected arrival date does not change the purchase order’s expected delivery date. Update both if you track both.

A supplier’s lead time is the default Lead Time for lines added to a purchase order for that supplier when you do not enter one. Through the line, it feeds the lead-time options in the ship date dialog.
