How do I send a purchase order to a connected system, and what happens when I edit it afterward?
Select “Send purchase order” in the purchase order’s actions menu. Endless creates the purchase order in the connected system, or updates it if it is already there. Business Central is the integration that supports this.
The action appears only when an active integration can receive purchase orders, and the purchase order is not archived, not canceled, and has at least one line. If any of these is not true, the action is hidden.
The dialog checks two things. First, the purchase order’s supplier must be mapped to a vendor in that integration. If it is not, the dialog shows “Not linked” and offers “Open Integration Settings,” where you map the supplier to a vendor on the Data mapping tab. A send without a mapping fails with “its supplier is not mapped to a vendor in this integration.” Second, Endless looks for a document with the same PO number in the connected system. If it finds one, you can update that document, or select “Mark as linked.” Marking as linked only records the connection in Endless, which is why the message says “Nothing was written” to the other system. Later sends then update that document. A document already linked to a different Endless purchase order cannot be linked again.
After you edit a purchase order, select “Send purchase order” again to send the changes; for a linked purchase order the dialog offers “Update purchase order.” To change only the expected date, use “Update arrival date” in the same menu, which updates open lines and leaves received lines and lines already in transit as they are.
You can push up to 50 purchase orders at a time. From the purchase order page you send one at a time. A supply shipment sent to Business Central can also send the purchase orders it needs that are not there yet.
