Where do the costs, lead times, terms, and other defaults on a purchase order come from?
Endless fills in a new line’s defaults from the supplier and the product when the line is added. After that, the purchase order keeps its own copy.
A new line’s unit cost is the supplier’s cost tier for that quantity. Without a matching tier or a supplier, it is the product’s default unit cost, or zero. A cost tier is a saved price for one product from one supplier, starting at a minimum quantity (shown as “100+”) and with an optional lead time. Endless uses the tier with the highest minimum quantity that does not exceed the line’s quantity; if two tiers share a minimum, the most recent one wins. While you edit a line, changing the quantity switches to the matching tier’s cost and lead time, and Apply on a tier uses it.
“Save New Cost Tier” and Update save the line’s quantity, cost, and lead time to the product’s costs for that supplier. Future lines for that product and supplier use it. Lines already on other purchase orders do not change.
A line’s lead time is the one you enter, otherwise the supplier’s lead time. Its HTS code and master carton details (units per carton, weight, and volume) come from the product’s customs code and master carton. Supply shipment items copy them from the purchase order line, and fall back to the product’s customs code for HTS.
A new purchase order takes the supplier’s incoterms and payment terms. Changing the supplier’s terms later does not update existing purchase orders.
If you change the supplier on the Supplier Details card, existing lines keep their costs and lead times, and the purchase order takes the new supplier’s incoterms. When you pick another supplier there, enter its payment terms in the Payment Terms field before you save. To reprice lines, edit them and apply the new supplier’s tiers.
