What does the product export include, and why is my export failing?
On the product list, select Export and choose Products. Endless builds the file in the background and sends a notification with a download link. The link expires after 24 hours, so run the export again after that.
The export uses the product list’s current search and filters, and the dialog shows how many products it will include. It includes up to 10,000 products. When more products match, the dialog says it will export the first 10,000. To export a larger catalog, run several exports with filters that divide it, such as brand or product type.
The columns are SKU, UPC, Part Number, Name, Brand (the brand’s handle), Description, Image, the product type and component settings, dimensions, UOM, MSRP, MAP, Default Unit Cost, Default Landed Cost, Default Dropship Unit Cost, customs, shipping, inner pack, master carton, and pallet details, Tags, Restock Threshold, Gross Margin, Packaging URL, Specs URL, Shippable, Archived, and one column for each custom attribute.
The Image column contains the product’s first image URL. For every image URL, use Export CSV on the Media page, which lists each image’s Source URL and SKU.
Gross Margin is 1 minus the product’s cost divided by its MSRP, as a decimal such as 0.4 for 40%. The cost is the Default Landed Cost, or the Default Unit Cost when the landed cost is blank or zero. Gross Margin is blank when the product has no MSRP or cost. Endless calculates it, so the import ignores it.
For one report of prices and costs, the product export already has SKU, Name, MSRP, MAP, and the three default costs. Supplier cost tiers are in the Product cost estimates export, and customer price tiers are in the Prices export on the customer list.
Exports wait in a queue and only a few run at a time, so an export can show as in progress for a while. Endless tries an export up to three times. If it still fails, you get an “Export failed” notification with the reason.
