How do I bulk upload new products or update existing ones with a product import?
Use the product import. On the product list, select Import, choose Products, and upload a CSV file. Endless processes it in the background and sends a notification when it finishes.
Endless matches each row to a product by its exact SKU across your company, including archived products. If the SKU exists, the row updates that product. Otherwise the row creates a new product.
The importer requires SKU and Name on every row, including rows that only update existing products. Name must be 2 to 200 characters. Every other column is optional.
The Product Type column accepts Finished Good, Bundle, Alias, Part, and Non-Inventory. It also accepts Kit, which creates a Bundle, and Component, which creates a Part. A new product with a blank Product Type becomes a Finished Good. On an existing product, a blank cell keeps the current type.
For the brand, put the brand’s handle in the Brand column, not its name. A handle that does not match a brand in your company fails the row with “Unknown brand handle.” A blank Brand cell creates the product without a brand, or keeps the current brand on an update.
To add suppliers, run the Product cost estimates import after the product import, with each supplier’s handle in the Supplier Handle column. Each estimate that names a supplier links that supplier to the product.
A product import does restore archived products. A row whose SKU matches an archived product unarchives it and then applies the update. To keep a product archived, or to archive it, set the Archived column to true. A new product with Archived set to true is created and then archived.
