What happens when I archive a supplier, and can I still order from it?
Archiving a supplier hides it from the Suppliers list and from supplier choices, and you cannot start new purchase orders with it. Endless does not block archiving. It warns you first, and the supplier’s existing records stay as they are.
Choose “Archive supplier” on the supplier’s page. When the supplier is still in use, the dialog lists the reasons, such as “This supplier has 3 open purchase orders.” or “This supplier is linked to 12 products.” You can still select Archive. “Archive suppliers” on the list applies only to suppliers with no warnings and skips the others, so archive those one at a time from their pages.
After archiving, open purchase orders keep the supplier, its name, and their lines, and you can keep working on them. Product links to the supplier and its cost tiers stay in place. To see the supplier again, use the Archived filter on the Suppliers list. “Unarchive supplier” restores it.
The open purchase order warning includes closed and canceled purchase orders that do not have a Closed date. To clear the warning, enter the Closed date on each purchase order’s Dates card, or archive the purchase orders you no longer need. The warning does not stop archiving, so you can also archive the supplier with it showing.
To create a purchase order for an archived supplier, unarchive the supplier first, create the purchase order, and archive the supplier again if you want. Archived suppliers do not appear in the supplier picker, and a PO import that names one fails with “Active supplier not found for Supplier Name.”
