How do a product’s suppliers, reorder point, and supplier costs work on purchase orders?

A product can have several suppliers. Each purchase order has one supplier, which you choose, and Endless uses that supplier’s cost estimates and terms for the lines.

A product’s suppliers are on its Supply Chain tab, one card each. A supplier is linked when you add a cost estimate for it.

On each supplier card:

  • Part Number: the supplier’s own number for this product, stored for reference.
  • Default MOQ: the supplier’s usual minimum order quantity. New purchase order lines show it, so check the line quantity against it.

“Restock At” on the product sets the low-stock level. When the product’s available stock is above zero but below this number, its stock status shows Low Stock in inventory lists and on the dashboard. Leave it blank or 0 to turn it off. Use the Low Stock status to decide what to reorder, and create purchase orders on the Purchase Orders page. Your developer or an AI coding tool can find Low Stock items and create purchase orders through the Endless API with an Operations Integration. API access and Supply chain must be in your plan.

The message that an estimate or MOQ already exists means the supplier already has an estimate for this product with that cost type and order quantity. Edit that estimate or use another quantity.

When you add a line to a purchase order, its unit cost comes from the first of these that applies:

  1. A unit cost you enter on the line.
  2. The supplier’s current Standard estimate with the highest order quantity that does not exceed the quantity ordered.
  3. The product’s Default Unit Cost.
  4. Zero.

Endless sets this when the line is added or the order’s supplier changes. Changing the quantity later keeps the line’s cost, so edit the unit cost if a different estimate should apply. The line’s lead time comes from the supplier’s profile.
