How does Endless match order lines and channel SKUs to my products, and where do I store other systems’ item numbers?
Endless matches each incoming order line to a product in this order, and uses the first match:
- The product the sales channel already linked to the line, when it sends one.
- Stored item numbers: first the customer’s item numbers, then Product IDs in Other Systems linked to the integration the order came from. This applies only to channels that send their own item numbers, such as Wayfair, Mirakl, and EDI trading partners.
- A product whose SKU is exactly the line’s SKU.
- A product with the line’s UPC. If several products share that UPC, the line stays unmatched and the order shows an error.
An unmatched line shows “Not in catalog.” Select “Add to Catalog” or “Link Product” on the line to link an existing product or add it to your catalog. When you create a product, or change a SKU, so that it matches an unmatched line’s SKU, Endless links those lines on Pending, Ordered, and In Progress orders.
For future orders from channels that send item numbers, add the channel’s item number to the product. Channels such as Shopify match by SKU, so the SKU in the channel must equal the SKU in Endless. After you change a SKU in Endless, update the channel listing or link those lines by hand.
Product IDs in Other Systems, on a product’s Connections tab, lists other partners’ identifiers for the product. Each entry has an External Partner Name, an External ID, an optional ID Type such as ASIN, and an optional Connected Integration. Only entries with a Connected Integration are used to match orders. Use them for a retailer’s item number, a retailer UPC, or a manufacturer SKU. The product list’s Advanced search finds products by them.
A customer’s item numbers are on the customer’s Products tab under Product identifiers. “An external identifier for this customer and value already exists” means that customer already uses that item number for a product.
