How do I connect and set up my Shopify store in Endless, including its locations, and what does the app change in my store?
To connect a store, open the Shopify integration, save the Shopify Client ID and Client secret in its API credentials, and add the Shopify Install Link and Sales Channel on the Settings tab. The Endless team creates the Shopify app and its installation link. Once these are saved, “Connect Shopify” and “Copy connection link” appear on the General tab. “Connect Shopify” takes you to Shopify to approve the app. “Copy connection link” copies a link that lets the store owner approve it without an Endless login. The link expires after seven days, and the store owner must finish in one browser.
When the connection completes, Endless subscribes to the Shopify events it uses: products, app removal, and order and fulfillment order changes when “Import & Update Orders” is on. Endless does not create locations, return addresses, staff accounts, or sales channels in your store. Inventory, tracking, and product information are written to Shopify only through settings and actions you turn on.
Leave the “Create Fulfillment Service” setting off, its default, and contact Endless support to discuss Shopify fulfillment services.
Each Shopify location maps to one Endless building. A new location becomes a building in three ways:
- “Import Locations” in the integration’s actions creates a building for each active location. After the first run, it only imports locations created since the previous import.
- A product import creates a building for each location that stocks the product.
- An order assigned to a location with no building creates one named after the location and its Shopify ID, such as “Main Street (Shopify 12345)”, or “Shopify Location 12345” when Shopify sends no name.
To connect an existing building to a location, open the Data mapping tab. In Connected Buildings, use “Browse external locations” and “Fetch Locations” to choose from your Shopify locations, or “Add connection” to enter a location ID. Map the location before orders arrive to avoid a duplicate building.
