How does Endless send supply shipments to Extensiv as receivers, and how are lot numbers and receiving handled?

Endless sends a supply shipment to Extensiv as a purchase order or a receiver, depending on the “ASN Destination Endpoint” setting under ASN Settings.

  • Purchase Order, the default, creates an Extensiv purchase order numbered with the supply shipment number. Each line carries the SKU, quantity, expected arrival date, and the facility connected to the destination building. Lot numbers, the ASN Location ID, and receipt advice numbers are not sent.
  • Receiver creates a receiver at that facility, with the supply shipment number as its reference number. Each line goes to the location in “ASN Location ID,” or location 1 when that setting is blank.

“Lot Number Source” applies to receivers only. Do Not Send, the default, leaves lot numbers off. Line Item Lot Number sends each line’s lot number when it has one. Shipment Reference Number sends the supply shipment’s reference number, or its shipment number when it has no reference. Shipment Number sends the shipment number on every line.

Extensiv rejects lot numbers when lot tracking is off in Extensiv. Set Lot Number Source to Do Not Send, or turn on lot tracking in Extensiv. A rejected send shows “Error sending ASN to Extensiv” in the supply shipment’s activity, with Extensiv’s reason in the details.

“Receipt Advice Number Source” also applies to receivers only. It sends the reference number, the shipment number, or nothing. With Shipment Reference Number, nothing is sent when the shipment has no reference.

Endless checks Pending and In Receiving supply shipments with Extensiv once a day, and “Sync ASN Inventory” on the Actions menu checks now. Receive shipments in other statuses in Endless, or contact Endless support for help. When Extensiv reports received units, Endless moves a Pending shipment to In Receiving and records each line’s received quantity. It matches lines by the line it sent, then by SKU and lot number, then by SKU. When Extensiv closes the receiver, Endless marks the shipment Received if every line arrived in full. Short deliveries stay In Receiving for review. With Purchase Order, Endless reads the first receiver Extensiv created for that purchase order.
