What happens when I push products, purchase orders, and shipments to Business Central, and why might a push fail?

Pushing product data creates or updates Business Central items, sending a purchase order creates or updates a purchase order, and sending a shipment creates an inbound ASN.

Push product data, on the product list or a product, takes up to 250 products. Each becomes an Inventory item with the SKU as item number, with the fields chosen by the Push settings and your attribute mappings, units of measure, item references, and an assembly BOM for bundles. A SKU longer than 20 characters is skipped. If you do not see Push product data, contact Endless support.

Send purchase order needs the supplier mapped to a Business Central vendor. Endless first checks that every SKU exists as an item. If any does not, nothing is created and you see “The following item(s) do not exist in Business Central,” followed by the SKUs. Create or push those items first. The purchase order number is sent as Vendor Order No., which Business Central limits to 35 characters, so shorten a longer number first. Lines carry the SKU, quantity, unit cost, Default Location Code, and expected dates.

Sending the same purchase order again updates the existing Business Central order and adds new lines. Remove lines deleted in Endless in Business Central yourself. Lines already received in Business Central are left as they are there, and once anything is received the order’s location and expected receipt date are not changed. If the supplier now maps to a different vendor, change the vendor on the Business Central order before you send again.

Sending a shipment creates an inbound container ASN with the container number, vessel, bill of lading, booking number, origin, ship date, and expected arrival date. The shipment needs an actual ship date, and every line must belong to a purchase order already sent. On The Water Location Code is the Business Central location the container is in while at sea. Left empty, Business Central uses its own default. Sending again updates a draft ASN. Once posting has started, finish it with Post ASN.
