How Endless manages inventory

Our inventory tools provide a centralized view of on-hand inventory across multiple warehouses, plus incoming shipments and upcoming orders. It’s your inventory crystal ball: past, present, and future.

How it works

Inventory is always allocated, which allows Endless to actually process orders, not just create labels

This is a little abstract, but: a system that does not track inventory, or does not allocate inventory, cannot process orders. A spreadsheet, for example, can track quantities but cannot allocate them to orders, therefore it cannot process orders. ShipStation, if not connected to an IMS, can still create labels, but those orders might not be able to be fulfilled in real life.

We track quarantine/damaged inventory separately from sellable stock

You can count, but not ship, quarantined or damaged inventory, which is not possible in many systems, and eliminates the need for separate tracking system. This avoids you shipping bad items to customers. You can also use this feature to create inventory holds/reserves.

We support self managed inventory, for businesses that own their own fulfillment locations

You can adjust inventory, and can track every change with a specific reason. We also support multiple sub-locations so you can store inventory in specific bins, shelves, aisles, etc. which allows Endless to function as a basic warehouse management system and avoids the need for additional tools.

Upstream inventory sync to or from sales channels

In order to ensure that your direct to consumer inventory is correct and accounts for demand from other sales channels, we pass unreserved available inventory upstream via our integrations. We also support pulling inventory from the sales channel, which can be helpful in certain circumstances. For sales channels that support multiple locations, we will match them up to locations in Endless to ensure the inventory sync is accutate.

Downstream inventory sync from WMS/3PL

We connect to your WMS/3PL to get real-time updates on inventory. This avoids dependencies on high latency and high effort method, such as an FTP file drops or spreadsheet exports.

Full read-and-write IMS with on hand, incoming, ordered, and allocated inventory tracking

Many systems that exist are read only. Endless can either be the native “source of truth” for inventory, or will read from an external source of truth, like an external WMS/3PL

Connected to orders and advanced shipping notices

When viewing inventory, you'll have a clear view that shows current stock, recent shipments, and incoming product, with links to those records.
