How do we set up Endless and switch over from our current system?
Set up Endless in the order its records depend on each other: products, then buildings and warehouse integrations, then inventory, then sales channels and order integrations, and then automations. How long this takes depends on your integrations and data, so ask Endless support for an estimate.
Connect warehouses before orders because orders need them. Endless assigns each fulfillment order to a building, and allocation needs available inventory in that building, which usually comes from the warehouse integration. For Shopify, map each location to an existing building before orders arrive. Otherwise an order from that location creates a duplicate building.
Endless can run alongside your current system. It sends an order to a warehouse only when a fulfillment order moves to In Progress, either by hand or through “Create fulfillments” and “Process fulfillments” automations. Until then, nothing reaches the warehouse. For Shopify, turning off a location’s “Process fulfillments in Endless” leaves fulfillment to Shopify while Endless records the shipments.
Order integrations bring in orders placed after they are connected. To bring in open orders at go-live, use the integration’s “Import Order” action for each order, where it offers one, or create orders by hand. For a larger backlog, ask Endless support about a historical import.
Before enabling automatic sending, test the complete order flow. ShipBob and Wayfair also have a Sandbox setting.
You can use Endless before connecting any integration: add products by hand or by CSV import, add buildings, import inventory from a file, and create purchase orders and sales orders by hand.
An integration is a connection to another system, such as Shopify, ShipBob, or QuickBooks Online. A sales channel is where an order was sold. Every order belongs to one sales channel, and an order integration assigns its orders to one. You can create a sales channel without an integration.
