How do I set up ShipStation, including stores, ship-from locations, and carrier settings?
Before Endless can send fulfillment orders to ShipStation, set up:
- The integration’s “ShipStation API Key” and “ShipStation API Secret.”
- The required “Shipstation Store ID” and “Integration Name” settings. Integration Name only names the shipping notification Endless registers in ShipStation.
- A connection for each building under Connected Buildings on the Data mapping tab. “Browse external locations” lists ShipStation’s warehouses, which are its ship-from locations.
- ShipStation as each building’s “Default fulfillment integration,” or a Set Fulfillment Integration automation that chooses it.
Endless puts each order in the ShipStation store mapped to its sales channel. On the Data mapping tab, “Fetch Stores” lists your ShipStation stores so you can pick one for each sales channel. Orders from unmapped sales channels go to the store in “Shipstation Store ID,” which must be the numeric store ID. Choose a store that accepts API-created orders, such as a manual-order store. A utility store appearing in Fetch Stores may still refuse orders.
Endless sets each order’s ship-from location to the ShipStation warehouse connected to the fulfillment order’s building. A building without a connection sends orders without one, and ShipStation uses its default.
For UPS, FedEx, and DHL services, the carrier settings decide which ShipStation carrier Endless names. When “Does your ShipStation store have UPS enabled?” is on, Endless names your own UPS account. When it is off, Endless names the walleted UPS account that ShipStation provides. FedEx and DHL work the same way. Leave the Walleted settings at their defaults. Other carriers use Endless’s ShipStation carrier mappings.
Create shipping labels in ShipStation, and leave “Create labels automatically” at its default.
Leave “Subscribe Webhooks” at its default. Endless registers ShipStation’s shipping notification each time the integration is set up or saved, and receives shipments through it.
