Why did orders from our custom sales integration come in as duplicates, as manual orders, or get rejected?
These problems come from what the custom sales integration sends when it creates an order, so the fix is in the integration’s calls.
Orders show as manual orders when the create call does not include the integration as the order’s source. Endless then treats the order as entered by hand: the order does not show the Integration on its details, the Source filter does not find it, and it stays Pending until someone selects Approve Order, whatever the sales channel’s Auto-approve Orders setting says. Have the integration send its own integration ID as the source integration on every order. For orders already created with an origin order ID, use Assign Source Integration on the order.
Endless rejects an order whose order number already exists in the same sales channel, unless the new order has a different origin order ID. Duplicates get through when:
- the integration sends no order number, so Endless generates a new one each time;
- the same order is sent to different sales channels; or
- retries send a different origin order ID.
Send the external order’s ID as the origin order ID, the integration as the source, and a stable order number. Endless then blocks a second order with the same origin order ID.
An order is rejected with “Sales channel not found” when the sales channel ID it sends does not belong to your company, or when it sends no sales channel and your company has no default sales channel. Send the ID of one of your sales channels, or set a default sales channel.
