What Your AI Tools Can Do

Twenty-nine read tools. Your AI tools choose among them from what you asked, so you never name one yourself. The names matter in one place: your client’s tool permission list, where you decide what to allow.

GroupWhat it answers
OrdersFind an order, read it in full, and see its items, fulfillments, shipments, and history.
ProductsFind a product, and read its pricing, cost, stock, suppliers, and bundle contents.
AnalyticsDemand, shipping, inventory position, and the coverage between ordered and shipped.
Supply ChainSuppliers, purchase orders, inbound shipments and their costs, and the warehouses they arrive at.
HistoryWhat happened to a product, integration, inventory record, supplier, purchase order, inbound shipment, brand, or fulfillment.

Start With a Company

list_companies and list_documentation_pages are the only tools that are not scoped to a company. Every other tool takes a company as an argument, so your AI tools call list_companies first and ask you which company you mean when more than one comes back.

If you work in a single company, you will rarely notice this happening. If you work in several, naming the company in your question saves a round trip: “In Northwind, which orders are on hold?”

Follow-Up Questions

Each answer includes the ids that follow-up questions need, so you do not have to look anything up. A product from search_products includes its supplier id, which finds everything else bought from that supplier. A fulfillment listed on an order includes the id that reads its history.

This is why a vague first question still works. Your AI tools start with a search, then use the ids in the results.

Counting Questions Come Back in One Call

A search answers with how many matched in total, not only the page it returned. “How many orders did we take last week?” is one call, not a count of rows on screen.

When a Tool Is Missing

Your client asks for the tool list when it connects and then holds on to it, so a tool released after you connected will not appear on its own. See Keeping Your Tool List Current.

Analytics tools require a plan that includes ECHO, and supply chain tools require a plan that includes supply chain. If they are missing after a refresh, contact support@endlesscommerce.com.
