Supply Chain Tools
Eight tools answer questions about what you buy and what is on its way: suppliers, purchase orders, and the inbound shipments that bring stock to a warehouse. A ninth, list_warehouses, supplies the warehouse ids the others narrow by. For how purchase orders, suppliers, and shipments work in Endless, see Supply Chain Overview.
| Tool | What it answers |
|---|---|
search_suppliers | Suppliers you don’t have in hand. |
get_supplier | One supplier in full. |
search_purchase_orders | Purchase orders you don’t have a number for. |
get_purchase_order | One purchase order in full. |
list_purchase_order_items | What is still to come, across orders. |
search_supply_shipments | Inbound shipments you don’t have a number for. |
get_supply_shipment | Where one inbound shipment is and what it carries. |
get_supply_shipment_costs | What one inbound shipment cost. |
list_warehouses | The warehouses of a company, with the ids other tools take. |
The eight supply chain tools are available on plans that include supply chain. list_warehouses is available on every plan.
Suppliers
search_suppliers matches part of a name, legal name, handle, email, location, or category. It also filters by status and by how a supplier performs, such as lead time, on-time delivery, and quality rating. Archived suppliers are left out unless you ask for them. Every result carries the id that search_purchase_orders and list_purchase_order_items take to narrow by supplier.
get_supplier answers who a supplier is and how it works with you: contacts and addresses, payment and shipping terms, lead time, on-time delivery, quality rating, response time, the products it supplies, when you last bought from it, and what you have spent with it across purchase orders. Ask by name or by id.
- “Which suppliers deliver on time less than 80% of the time?”
- “Which suppliers take more than 30 days?”
- “How much have we spent with Acme Textiles?”
Purchase Orders
search_purchase_orders finds purchase orders that are open with a supplier, expected this week, late, not fully shipped, or unpaid, or the one for a PO number or SKU. It filters by status, payment status, supplier, and the expected, shipped, delivered, and payment due dates. The answer says how many matched in total.
get_purchase_order reads one order in full: supplier and contact, status and milestone, payment status and terms, dates, what the products cost and what has been paid, and each line with how much was ordered, shipped, received, and is still to ship, with its landed cost. It names the inbound shipments carrying the order. Ask by PO number or by id.
list_purchase_order_items reads lines across orders, soonest expected to ship first. It answers how many units of a SKU are still to come and in which orders, and what a supplier still has to ship. Still to ship counts only active shipments, so a canceled shipment does not count as shipped. Lines of archived orders are left out.
- “Which purchase orders are late?”
- “Which POs are unpaid?”
- “How many units of ABC-100 are still on the way, and on which orders?”
- “What does Acme Textiles still have to ship?”
Inbound Shipments
Inbound shipments bring stock from suppliers to a warehouse or to a stop on the way, including those sent to a warehouse system as an advance shipping notice (ASN). They are not the packages an order ships in. For those, see list_order_shipments in Orders.
search_supply_shipments finds shipments arriving this week, in transit, or delivered to a warehouse last month, or the one for a container, tracking number, or bill of lading. It filters by status, type, payment status, destination warehouse, purchase order, and the expected and actual ship and arrival dates.
get_supply_shipment answers where a shipment is and what it carries: its status and every status it went through, origin and destination, how it travels, expected and actual dates, and each item with how much was shipped and how much has been received so far. It names the purchase orders it carries and any shipment it was split from or into. The external id is the id a warehouse system gave the shipment when it was sent there as an ASN, and it is empty when the shipment was never sent.
get_supply_shipment_costs answers what a shipment cost to bring in: shipping at origin, in transit, and at destination, duties, taxes, other fees, and the landed cost. It says how much of the shipping and duties has been allocated to the items and how much is still to allocate, and lists the declared tariff (HTS) codes with their duty rate, entered amount, and duties.
- “What arrives at the Reno warehouse this week?”
- “Find the shipment with container MSKU1234567.”
- “What did the shipment from Acme Textiles cost, with duties?”
- “How much of that shipment’s duties are still unallocated?”
Warehouses
list_warehouses lists a company’s warehouses by name. Each one says whether it is active, whether Endless processes its fulfillments, and which fulfillment integration runs it when another system does. Its ids narrow search_supply_shipments by destination.
Related Records
A supplier id finds that supplier’s purchase orders. A purchase order lists its inbound shipments, and a shipment lists its purchase orders. To see who changed a supplier, purchase order, or shipment, your AI tools use get_timeline with that id.
