productPackagingGtinSuggestions

Suggests a packaging GTIN-14 for each packaging level of a product. Each GTIN is built from the product's UPC and an indicator digit from the GS1 prefix that issued the UPC.

Business Rules​

  • The level's configured indicator is used when no other product holds the result
  • Otherwise a free indicator from 1 to 8 is used, starting with digits no level is configured with. GS1 reserves 9 for variable-measure items
  • A level keeps its current GTIN when it already derives from the UPC and is free
  • Archived products still hold their GTINs
  • Nothing is reserved. Two users who assign at the same time can receive the same GTIN, and saving a product does not reject a GTIN another product already carries
